Miraculous Deliverance from Bandits: How the God of Chosen Sent Angels to Rescue Sister Deborah

Some testimonies don’t just inspire—they remind us that the God who performed miracles in the Scriptures is very much alive today.

When Sister Deborah Moses and her husband took a leap of faith to move from Minna, Niger State, to the bustling city of Lagos, they had no idea they were about to step into a series of divine interventions that would transform their lives, restore their home, and save them from the jaws of death.

Here is the extraordinary journey of how the God of Chosen turned heartbreak into restoration and fear into an undeniable miracle.

A Desperate Move and an Unexpected Sanctuary

The journey began with a painful blow: Sister Deborah’s husband lost his job as a general manager in Minna. With nowhere else to turn, the couple relocated to Lagos. Upon arrival, a friend of her husband offered them temporary shelter.

However, it didn't take long for them to realize that their host lived a lifestyle far removed from godly values. Feeling uncomfortable, Deborah and her husband decided it was time to leave. "It is better to stay under the roof of God than to remain under the roof of an ungodly person," Deborah suggested to her husband.

Determined to find refuge, they decided to look for a church that might accommodate them temporarily. Guided by providence, they stumbled upon a local assembly.

To Deborah’s surprise, and slight disappointment, it was a branch of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Movement.

Back in Minna, Deborah had paid little attention to The Lord's Chosen. In fact, she admitted to disliking them, often looking past members who wore their distinctive yellow evangelical aprons around town. But stripped of options, she whispered to her husband, "Let's go in."

Stepping into the church mid-service, Deborah felt self-conscious about her attire, which differed greatly from the modest dress code of the sisters. Spotting her hesitation, a kind sister warmly wrapped a wrapper around her to make her comfortable. That single act of love was the beginning of their divine turn-around.

A Prophecy Fulfilled: "I Command Your Job Restored!"

After the service, the resident pastor invited the couple to attend an upcoming international program at the church’s General Headquarters in Ijesha, Lagos. They accepted and joined the branch delegation to the main sanctuary.

During the program, as the General Overseer began to pray, a word of knowledge rang out:

"There is a man here who lost his job. I command your job to be restored!"

Deborah and her husband immediately claimed the prayer by faith.

In no time, the miracle materialized. Not only was her husband's job fully restored, but he received a promotion! He was transferred directly to the company's corporate Headquarters in Ajah, Lagos, a higher elevation than where he had previously worked in Minna. God had turned their valley of shame into a mountain of elevation.

Surrounded by Terror: An Ambush in the Bush

With their lives stabilizing in Lagos, Sister Deborah traveled back to Minna, Niger State, to bring their child to their new home.

On their return journey to Lagos, disaster struck. The commercial bus developed a mechanical fault in a remote area, forcing the driver to pull over. As the minutes ticked by, agitation grew among the passengers, given the growing insecurity on the highways.

Suddenly, the worst happened.

A gang of bandits armed with AK-47 rifles emerged from the surrounding bushes. They surrounded the vehicle, forcing everyone out at gunpoint and ordering them to march in a line into the dense forest.

In a split second of panic, Deborah managed to call her husband. "Turn off your phone immediately so they don't notice you!" he instructed frantically over the receiver.

She quickly switched it off. But there was another problem: Deborah was wearing her Lord's Chosen apron.

The Apron That Struck Fear into Terrorists

As they marched into the bush, the bandits noticed her apron and flew into a rage.

The gang leader barked an order at one of his men: "Shoot her because of what she is wearing!"

To everyone's shock, the gunman froze. Terrified, he refused the command, complaining that he couldn't bring himself to shoot her because of the apron.

Confusion broke out among the bandits. They began shouting at Deborah, ordering her to take off the apron. Overwhelmed by fear, Deborah clutched the apron tightly in her hands. Deep inside her spirit, she began to groan in desperate prayer, crying out repeatedly in her heart:

"The God of my Pastor... The God of my Pastor...!"

The Man in White and the Flaming Footprints

What happened next can only be described as a open-vision rescue.

Out of nowhere, an elderly man with a long white beard, dressed in brilliant white apparel, white shoes, and a white apron appeared right in front of her.

Fascinated and relieved, Deborah blurted out aloud: "Daddy!"

The bandits spun around, bewildered. "Which daddy are you calling?!" they yelled, unable to see who she was looking at.

The white-bearded man gently turned to Deborah and said: "My daughter, anywhere I step, follow my footprints and come with me. I walk with those who are faithful."

Behind the old man, Deborah looked back and saw about ten men dressed in white, brandishing battle-ready weapons resembling cutlasses.

As the old man took his first step, Sister Deborah placed her feet directly into his footprints. Miraculously, as he walked, a thick white smoke began to rise from his footprints, enveloping both Deborah and the old man, shielding them from view.

The bandits grew hysterical, shouting, "Who are you talking to?!"

At that moment, the old man lifted his hand toward the terrorists. Instantly, their spiritual eyes were opened to see him. Panic seized the entire gang. After some arguments in between them in utter terror, the bandits scattered in all directions, fleeing into the deep forest for their lives!

The old man led Deborah safely out of the bush to the main road, and then quietly disappeared.

Gaining her composure, Deborah ran to the road, flagged down their bus driver, who had managed to escape, and urged him to gather the remaining passengers into the bus and drive away immediately.

An Angelic Chaperone

Standing by the roadside with her son, Deborah waited. Suddenly, an unidentified car pulled up in front of her. A woman stepped out and invited them to get in.

Hesitant and traumatized, Deborah replied, "Ma, I can't enter. I just escaped from bandits in the bush."

The woman smiled gently and replied: "I am aware of it. That is why I am here to save you."

Summoning courage, Deborah and her son got into the vehicle. During the ride, Deborah asked, "Ma, I don’t know you, who are you?"

The woman simply replied, "Don’t worry, you will know me very soon."

The car eventually pulled up to a breathtakingly beautiful house. When Deborah asked again about her identity, the woman tactfully shifted the conversation to the church apron Deborah was carrying.

"This program on your apron is coming up very soon, right?" the woman asked.

"Yes," Deborah answered, asking if the woman would attend.

The mysterious woman smiled: "I will be there before you."

Inside the house, an atmosphere of intense purity and worship prevailed. Deborah heard a young woman singing melodiously, waving her hands in adoration: "He that sitteth upon the throne, let Thy name be glorified..."

Deborah was given a room for the night. Though she initially wondered if she was safe, any lingering fear evaporated as she looked around: the entire room, including the bed prepared for her, was bathed in a radiant, divine white light.

Early the next morning, the host arranged another vehicle that carried Sister Deborah and her son directly to The Lord's Chosen Headquarters in Ijesha, Lagos, safe, unharmed, and overflowing with gratitude.

The Power of the God of Chosen

Sister Deborah’s story is a glowing testimony that God still delivers those who trust in Him. From restoring a lost job with promotion to dispatching heavenly hosts to scatter armed bandits, God proved Himself as an ever-present help in times of trouble.

As the heavenly messenger declared to Sister Deborah: "I walk with those who are faithful."

Truly, the God of Chosen is great!
